Insurance is the floor. Everything you build sits on it.
A student rolls an ankle in your Vinyasa class in Cork. A studio in Dublin asks for proof of cover before booking you. A claim arrives nine months after a session you barely remember. None of these is hypothetical. They happen in this profession every year. Teachers in Ireland carry the same exposure as colleagues elsewhere. What changes after Brexit is the regulatory route the cover runs through, not the standard of cover itself.
"I started YogaPros after watching a teacher get sued for something she had nothing to do with. The policy she'd been sold didn't cover what she actually taught. After Brexit we needed a path that respects EU regulation while keeping the standard the same. That's what Balens Europe B.V. is."

How it activates
Three steps. One direction.
Insurance does not activate until your qualifications are verified. This is a fiduciary fact. The chain runs in one direction.

2
We verify
Claire's team reads every certificate. A named person, against the standard.

Insurance activates
€6.5M cover goes live. Certificate available in your dashboard. You can teach insured.
Activation is a manual process. Please allow one business day after Live CV verification for our team to bind cover with Balens Europe B.V. Verification time depends on the qualification; straightforward credentials clear fastest.
What you're covered for
Read this before you teach a class.
The policy is generous, but it isn't unlimited. Here's what sits inside the cover, what sits outside, and the conditions you have to meet for online and recorded work.
●
Yoga styles covered as standard
Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Pregnancy Yoga, Children's Yoga, Yoga Therapy, SUP Yoga, Meditation, and live online classes. CPD-added styles such as yin, restorative, prenatal and trauma-informed sit inside this cover.
Standard policy · no add-on required
○
NOT covered as standard
Aerial Yoga, Acro Yoga, YogaLates, massage, and personal training sit outside the standard cover. They require a multi-therapy add-on. If you teach any of these, contact us before your first class. We'll route you to the right wording.
Multi-therapy add-on required
●
Online classes worldwide
Live online classes are covered worldwide, with explicit exclusions for USA, Canada, Russia and Belarus. The policy requires you to keep student name and email records and run a pre-class consultation. Both are conditions of cover, not paperwork.
Conditions apply · USA, Canada, Russia, Belarus excluded
●
Recorded promotional content
Pre-recorded video used to promote your teaching is covered only when it is free, qualification-related, and carries appropriate disclaimers. Paid pre-recorded courses sit outside the standard cover. If in doubt, ask before publishing.
Free promotional only · paid recordings excluded
●
Teaching from your home
The policy covers your liability as the instructor when teaching in your own home. It does not cover your buildings, contents or your insurer's interest in the property. Those are the homeowner's responsibility. Tell your home insurer you teach there.
Instructor liability only
●
Temporary trips abroad
Retreats and temporary teaching trips abroad from your Eire base are fully covered. Spain, Portugal, France, anywhere outside the named exclusions. The territorial exclusions remain: USA, Canada, Russia and Belarus.
Worldwide except named exclusions
Underwritten by professionals
Three names. One stack of trust.
We didn't build the cover ourselves. We built the structure (verification, eligibility, member infrastructure) and partnered with people who insure professionals for a living.

The questions members ask
Things teachers actually want to know.
Cover activates after your Live CV is verified. Activation is a manual process. Please allow one business day for the team to bind cover with Balens Europe B.V. once verification clears. The exact start date is shown on the certificate in your member dashboard.
The excess is nil. You contribute nothing toward a claim. The cover responds from the first euro of loss and runs to the €6.5M policy limit per claim, with unlimited claims annually.
Yes. Live online classes are covered worldwide, with explicit territorial exclusions for USA, Canada, Russia and Belarus. The conditions for online cover are non-negotiable: keep student name and email records and run a pre-class consultation. Both are required by the underwriter.
The policy covers your liability as the instructor when teaching at home: a student injury, a third-party complaint, a claim arising from how you teach. It does not cover the buildings or contents. That is the homeowner's job. Tell your home insurer that you teach yoga at the address; most household policies require it.
Pre-recorded video is covered only when it is free, qualification-related, and carries appropriate disclaimers. Paid pre-recorded courses sit outside the standard cover. Those need a separate conversation. If in doubt, email insurance@theyogapros.com before you publish.
Not as standard. Aerial Yoga, Acro Yoga, YogaLates, massage, and personal training require a multi-therapy add-on. The standard policy covers Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Pregnancy, Children's Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Meditation, SUP Yoga, and live online classes. CPD-added styles such as yin, restorative, prenatal and trauma-informed sit inside this cover. For anything else, contact us before your first class.
Yes. The policy is on a claims-occurring basis: a claim filed after cancellation is still covered if the incident occurred during the policy period. No run-off cover is required. New incidents after cancellation are not covered.
The standard of cover is the same: €6.5M Professional, Public & Products Liability with nil excess and ARAG legal support. What's different is the regulatory route. The Eire policy is underwritten by Balens Europe B.V. and authorised by the Dutch Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AfM licence 12046134), the appropriate EU-domiciled path after Brexit. Same level of protection, EU-regulated.

Insurance is the floor. Everything else stands on it.
I've watched this profession go through three decades of growth and I've seen what happens when teachers are sold cover that doesn't fit what they teach. Post-Brexit, we needed a path that respects EU regulation while keeping the standard the same. That's what Balens Europe B.V. is. €6.5M, nil excess, claims-occurring, online and abroad. That's the floor for teachers in Eire. Everything else we do (directory, recognition, community, career path) sits above it.
