Corporate & venue procurement · Deep dive

You're responsible for the people who walk into your space. How do you know the teacher you're hiring is actually covered?

A wellness team books a six-week lunchtime yoga programme. A boutique hotel runs a Sunday class on the rooftop. A gym chain wants a verified teacher across twelve sites. An event organiser needs proof of cover before contracts go out on Friday. The questions are the same every time. Is the teacher qualified. Are they actually insured. What does that policy cover when a student is on your premises. What do you still need on your own side. This page answers all four, in plain procurement language, with the underwriter's name on the front.

"Studios and venues kept asking us the same thing. Send proof of cover. Tell us what it covers when our member is in your room. Tell us what we still need to carry ourselves. We built the verification into the Live CV so the answer is on one page, signed by a named person."
What the teacher carries into your venue

Six million pounds of cover that follows the teacher. Across studios, gyms, offices, hotels, retreats and online programmes.

Click any card. The headline numbers are easy to find anywhere. The conditions and territorial limits underneath are what the procurement conversation actually turns on.

£6M Professional & Public Liability · per claim · UK Professional Yoga Teacher Insurance Policy
The honest line · venue-side responsibilities

The teacher policy is teacher-side. You still carry venue-side cover.

Procurement asks for proof of cover and gets it. The next question is the one most pages skip: what does this policy not reach. The answer is below, in plain language. The teacher's £6M is for the teaching. Everything else stays with the venue.

What the teacher's policy does cover

Professional & Public Liability for the way the class is taught and run, in any UK venue, up to £6M per claim. Online sessions worldwide, with the named exclusions. The teacher is covered. Defence costs are covered.

Teacher-side · £6M PL/PI

Venue's own public liability

Slip and trip in your reception. A faulty light fitting in the room. A hazard on your premises that has nothing to do with the class. The teacher policy does not respond. Your existing venue public liability is the cover that responds. Most venues already carry this for the rest of the operation.

Venue-side · already carried

Employer's liability for your staff

If your own staff member attends the class, the teacher's policy does not act as employer's liability for your business. Your employer's liability policy is the cover that responds to staff injury or illness arising from employment.

Venue-side · employer obligation

Equipment damage & contents

Damage to your floors, mirrors, fittings, AV equipment or props you supply, where the damage is not caused by the way the teacher ran the class. Your contents and property cover responds. The teacher policy responds only when the teaching itself caused the damage.

Venue-side · property cover

Your own wellness programmes

The wellness brand, the participant journey, the retention model, the digital platform you wrap around the class. Anything you market as your programme. The teacher policy covers the teacher's work inside it. Your professional indemnity covers the design and operation of the programme itself.

Venue-side · own programme PI

Student records and pre-class consultation

For online sessions and any class with health-screening implications, the underwriter requires the teacher to keep participant name and email records and run a pre-class consultation. These are conditions of cover, not paperwork. Worth flagging in your booking brief so the teacher arrives prepared.

Verify before you book

Three checks. One Live CV.

Self-reported insurance is not proof of cover. The Live CV is third-party verification, signed by Claire, who leads Professional Protection & Safety. Run these three checks before contracts go out.

1

Open the Live CV

Ask the teacher for their YogaPros Live CV link, or search the public directory. Every working YogaPros teacher has a public profile. The URL alone is the start of verification.

2

Read the membership tier

Free members are not yet insured by us. Professional, Signature and Personal Brand members carry the £6M policy. The tier badge is on the front of the Live CV.

3

Check insurance status

The Live CV displays insurance status as verified by our team. If it reads active, the £6M cover is in force. Request the certificate of cover for your records.

For multi-site bookings, ask for the partnerships team. We can run the verification across a list of teachers in one pass and supply certificates of cover for procurement files. Email partnerships@theyogapros.com with the booking brief.

The names on the policy

Three names behind the cover. One UK policy stack.

We didn't build the policy ourselves. We built the verification, the eligibility, the Live CV. The cover is underwritten by people who insure professionals for a living.

Zurich

The UK Professional Yoga Teacher Insurance Policy is underwritten by Zurich, one of the largest commercial insurers in the world. The policy carries £6M Professional & Public Liability per claim, nil excess, on a claims-occurring basis with retroactive cover. The same wording reads in every UK venue your teacher is booked into.

What it costs your venue

Nothing extra. The cover is already in the booking.

There is no separate corporate insurance product to buy. The £6M sits inside the teacher's membership. Every Professional, Signature or Personal Brand teacher you book carries it into your venue at no additional procurement cost.

Note. Venue-side liability cover (your premises, your staff, your contents, your own programme PI) is not provided by YogaPros. Most venues already carry this through their existing commercial insurance. If you need a referral to a broker for venue-side wellness programme cover, we can introduce one.

Procurement asks · we answer

The questions venue and corporate buyers actually ask.

Open the teacher's Live CV. Membership tier and insurance status are surfaced on the public profile, verified by our team rather than self-reported. Professional, Signature and Personal Brand members carry the £6M cover. For procurement files, request a certificate of cover from the teacher or from partnerships@theyogapros.com. We can issue one with your venue named.
Yes. The UK Professional Yoga Teacher Insurance Policy is multi-location by design. The teacher's £6M Professional & Public Liability cover applies in any UK venue, on the same terms, with no per-venue uplift. The teacher does not need a special endorsement to teach in your office. Online corporate sessions are covered worldwide, with the named territorial exclusions.
Live online classes carry the same £6M cover, worldwide, with explicit territorial exclusions for USA, Canada, Russia and Belarus. The underwriter requires the teacher to keep participant name and email records and run a pre-class consultation. If your wellness platform is supplying participant lists, brief the teacher on the consultation process so the conditions of cover are met.
Bookings in USA, Canada, Russia and Belarus sit outside the UK policy's territorial reach. USA-domiciled teachers operate under our $2M Insurance Canopy policy, which responds to corporate bookings in the United States. Canada, Russia and Belarus require a locally-licensed insurer; we don't currently underwrite there. If your booking is in any of those four territories, ask the partnerships team before contracting.
Yes. The teacher's policy is teacher-side. It responds to the way the class is taught and run. Your venue's existing public liability, employer's liability, contents and property cover remain the right policies for hazards on your premises that aren't class-related, for staff who attend, and for damage that isn't caused by the teaching itself. Most venues already carry these for the rest of the operation.
If the injury arises from the way the class was taught (a posture cue, a sequence, an adjustment), the teacher's £6M Professional & Public Liability policy responds. Balens are the first point of contact for the claim and handle the conversation with Zurich. If the injury arises from the venue itself (faulty flooring, equipment you supplied, an unrelated hazard on the premises), your venue policy responds. The two policies are designed to sit alongside each other.
For a single booking, search the YogaPros directory by location and availability and contact the teacher directly. Most teachers respond within 24 hours. For multi-site, multi-week programmes, the partnerships team can run a sourcing pass: we filter by location, style, availability and tier, and supply a short list with verified Live CVs. Email partnerships@theyogapros.com with the booking brief.
Yes. Every YogaPros teacher you book carries the same £6M policy on the same terms. For chains, hotel groups and multi-site corporates, the partnerships team handles the verification at scale: certificates of cover for each teacher, a single procurement file, ongoing renewal alerts so your records stay current. The cover follows each teacher individually; there's no aggregate limit on how many you can book at once.

From the founder

You're responsible for the people who walk into your space. The teacher's cover is one piece of that.

Studios, gyms, hotels and corporate buyers all asked us the same question over the years. How do we know the teacher we're hiring is actually insured. We built the verification into the Live CV so the answer is on one page, signed by a named person on our team, and we made the £6M cover follow the teacher into your venue with no add-on for you to procure. The teacher's policy is teacher-side. Your venue carries the cover for your premises, your staff and your own programmes. The two were designed to sit alongside each other. We make the verification frictionless. You decide who fits the brief.
